MIT - Labs

During the past 15 years, DAIQ has completed several renovation projects within the main building complex at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In each case the design team faced the challenge of integrating high technology systems and new teaching methods within a landmark building designed for early 20th century technology and pedagogy. The Pappalardo Laboratories for Undergraduate Education (1995) are a 20,000 sf complex of labs, classrooms, workshops, and seminar facilities to teach first principles in Mechanical Engineering. Studies bridge the gap between the theoretical and the practical and include MIT’s famous 2-007 design course and competition immortalized on NOVA as the “Battle of the Robots.” Subsequent projects include the Brit and Alex D’Arbeloff Laboratory for Information Systems and Technology, the Park Lecture Hall and Park Room for Innovative Education, the George and Daphne Hatsopoulos Microfluids Laboratory and Rohsenow Kendall Lab.
