DAIQ Architects provided programming, planning and conceptual design services for this non-profit institution. The Robert F. Kennedy Children’s Action Corps provides education and support for at-risk boys, ages 6 to 16, in a full-time residential setting. DAIQ assisted with the development of a program for all elements of the new independent campus, including new and renovated residential buildings, a new school, and administration and staff training facilities to be housed in renovated buildings. The site plan includes a campus green, an athletic field, a ropes course for developing confidence and agility, and a motorbike track. The most significant challenge was trying to fit the program on the restricted site while establishing a cohesive campus design and a character compatible with the mission of the school.
